Veteran Documentary Project
Are you a combat veteran navigating life after service?
I’m Dr. Zach Rawlings, a clinical psychologist in Brooklyn. I work closely with combat veterans.
I’m creating a short documentary project about what life after combat really looks like—the transition home, identity changes, relationships, and the parts that don’t get talked about.
This first film is a small, private project.
It will only be shown to a small group involved in developing the project. It will not be released publicly or on streaming platforms.
What Participation Involves
A 30-minute Zoom call to answer questions and make sure it feels like a good fit
One filmed therapy-style conversation (about 90 minutes) in my Brooklyn office. This is a one-time meeting. It is not a commitment to ongoing therapy.
$200 honorarium
Fully voluntary
You can withdraw at any time before filming
Who I’m Looking For
Male veterans
Combat experience
Living in the NYC, North Jersey, or Long Island area (or able to travel to Brooklyn once)
Open to being filmed
The Goal
This is not a reality show. It’s not sensationalized.
The goal is honest, respectful conversation about life after combat.
